Biography:
Dan provides individual therapy for all ages, using play therapy for children (ages 3-9), activity therapy for preteens and young teens (10-14), and talk therapy for teens and adults. He is also trained to work with parents and caregivers to enhance their relationships with their children through Child Parent Relationship Training in an individual or group setting.
In addition to being a counselor at New Hope Counseling, Dan also works in private practice in Flower Mound. Prior to becoming a counselor, Dan worked at Denton County Friends of the Family as the shelter’s Male Mentor, where his purpose was to provide a positive male relationship for children in the shelter. His position at Friends of the Family validated his belief in the power of a safe, genuine, and caring relationship as I witnessed the clients I worked with heal and grow.
For self-care, Dan enjoys playing guitar, writing, and spending time with his partner.
Dan is currently under clinical supervision with David Huffman, PhD, LPC-S, RPT.
